Christmas Central Celebrates 20 Years as Online Retailer
CHEEKTOWAGA, NY (05/01/2024) – Christmas Central, a leader in online seasonal merchandise, celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2024. Christmas Central (christmascentral.com) is a division of Gordon Companies Inc., a family-owned and -operated business headquartered in Cheektowaga, New York.
The company was started in 1977 by CEO Dave Gordon, who grew his warehouse wholesale deals to a small regional chain of popular retail stores later named Dave’s Christmas Wonderland. The family took the deals online in 2001 and officially launched the Christmas Central website in 2004. Drawing on their broad knowledge of wholesale and retail sales, the Gordons expanded their digital presence and developed strong relationships with an extensive list of vendor partners.
Today, 218,000 product SKUs are offered on Christmas Central, as well as on major ecommerce marketplaces in the United States, including Target.com, Walmart.com and Amazon.com.
In addition to featuring Northlight, the Gordon Companies’ line of seasonal and home decor, Christmas Central partners with hundreds of vendors to offer a wide range of decorations for Christmas, Easter, Halloween and other holidays, as well as swimming pool products and home décor.

Newsweek and Statista have twice named Christmas Central one of the best online shops in the United States. Christmas Central also has appeared six times on Inc. magazine’s Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing private companies. In addition, in 2023, Gordon Companies ranked in the top 30 of 51 Top Private Companies in WNY by Buffalo Business First.
With its home-grown roots, the company has strong community ties to and regularly donates to organizations like Oishei Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, local food pantries, the Boys and Girls Club of Cheektowaga and Depew, Hospice Buffalo, and many more non-profit organizations.
